In November last year, I engaged the coaching services of Helen Ebdon. I had become familiar with her Take 15 Program, through our business networking group and felt that it alone, could offer me the structure and guidance I needed in my business.

The Take 15 Program is not a fancy fluffy concept or some faceless virtual on-line course. It is a real live practical tool, which when I applied each week, brought me clarity, power and a marked improvement in my daily output, which I didn’t think I had any more time for.

In addition to undertaking the Take 15 Program, I met with Helen face to face for 90mins each week for 12 weeks. This personalised approach meant I had the support to elaborate on more complex areas of my business and personal life. Working from home meant the voice in my head was the only manager I had.

Helen had a system to breakdown my goals into bite-sized achievable pieces, setting parameters, understanding my productivity triggers and recording my success – a small activity that kept me inspired and confident in my decisions.

I looked forward to seeing Helen each week. It was both liberating and refreshing to find out that my conditioning – ‘my way’ was not always the right way and the ‘other way’ is not only worth consideration, but sometimes better.

Since finishing up, I have had Helen withdrawals, so I look forward to returning soon. In the meantime, Take 15 keeps me accountable and empowered.

Approximately 18 months ago I started my own business providing specialised legal advice to international companies wishing to establish a presence in Australia. I languished for 15 of those months operating day to day without any real structure or definitive purpose. In my first session with her, I said I felt very competent and confident in my skills as a Feldenkrais practitioner but rated myself a 0/10 for my business skills.

Over the next 12 weeks, we looked at all the aspects of my business and embarked on a major rebranding project that included changing the name, logo and website of the business. We even renovated my workspace so that it went from looking like a dump to a professional and aesthetically pleasing environment.

Most importantly, we worked on how to talk about the Feldenkrais Method in a way that made sense to people who had never heard of it. We worked on creating a target market and how to emphasise the points that really resonated with people.

By the time 12 weeks was up, we had made so much progress that I asked to continue for another 6 weeks. At the end of the process, I felt much more confident in the direction my business was heading and in my ability to sell the benefits of the method.
